An Meine Völker!

With those words did the Great War begin one hundred years ago.

The Great War was an unmitigated catastrophe for mankind.

Though this conceited writer has rather much to elucidate regarding the devastating conflagration that through total war so violently convulsed societies so as to irreparably alter their very natures and in so doing seemingly extirpate the age of monarchy from the West, he will for now simply say of it what should be clear to every learned mind: the wrong side won.
